"Battle of Salisbury Bridge"

I'm trying to find documentation for the "Battle of Salisbury Bridge" which occurred, according to "Official Records," on April 16, 1864 at Saline Bayou in Winn Parish, Louisiana, about 4 miles below the Drake Salt Works. According to Harley Bozeman, a local historian, the federals came up from the southern end of old Saline Bayou and engaged a Texas cavalry troop and some infantry who were guarding the salt works during salt production for the confederate army. Because the local newspapers were under federal control or no longer exist, I'm having trouble piecing together who was there or other details.

If anyone sees anything mentioning the Saline Bayou bordering Natchitoches and Winn Parishes in your readings, please let me know.

Thanks, Marcy Frantom
