Just curious, is this the same Capt. Joseph C. Lea (Joseph Calloway Lea) who helped found New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell and who was the namesake of Lea County in SE New Mexico? I attended NMMI and had many classes in Lea Hall. The school was founded in 1891 as Goss Military Institute and was inspired by VMI.
