I have a somewhat suspect statement that Sgt.-Maj.
W. G. Richardson was mortally wounded while carrying
the Regimental Colors at Shiloh.
I have confirmed the fact that Richardson was indeed
mortally wounded and left on the field.
Can anyone verify that he was "carrying the Colors"???
