Charles Dufour's "The Night the War Was Lost"

Now there's a controversial assertion!

I suspect the premise of this book flies in the face of a good many eastern theater "firsters," but if you've ever read this book, how well in your opinion does the author support his title thesis?

How's the scholarship that went into the writing, and is this considered the definitive work on the subject? Any recommendations of other titles that deal with this topic?

Thanks for whatever thoughts you're willing to share!
