Thanks for the link, Steve. I've bookmarked it. Am I mistaken, or is this only a searchable database for tombstone inscriptions within St. Louis Cemetery No. 1, and does not include the interment records?

Regardless, the soldier I am searching for is supposed to be buried in St. Louis Cemetery No. 2. I hope that I did not neglect to specify which cemetery. For now, I can still hold out some hope that he has a marker.

Is St. Louis no. 2 still overrun with thugs from the surrounding housing projects as I have read on the the different NOLA sights, or can it be safely visited during daylight hours? I found a phone number online, hopefully they'll have records they can search.
