George Wear/Hampton Legion

George Wear enl in Co A/Hampton Legion Infantry Jun 61, rose through the ranks to 3 SGT; was a scout in 1865, and got separated from his command during the retreat, surrendering at Ashland, Va in May 1865. He was originally from Williamsburg District, S.C., but was living in Louisiana by 1870. He was an attorney and judge postwar, but I know no more than that of his postwar career. He died 29 Aug 1927, and is buried in Columbia Hills Cemetery, Columbia, Caldwell Parish. Can anyone give me any personal information on him postwar (or prewar, for that matter)?
