The company did not play an active part in the defense of New Orleans. A report of activities for General Buisson's brigade, to which it belonged, reads as follows: "Capt Guyol's Artillery never left the city their equipment being incompleted and Genl Lovell further stating that the Government could not furnish forage for their horses." The company would have disbanded when New Orleans fell. Had Lafayette joined another Louisiana unit afterwards, there appears to be no record of it.
