Even if you only knew him via his great publication of the Louisianians at Vicksburg, I still urge all board members to take this chance and post a note of condolence to his family via the Shreveport Times link. If you look, the notes will be posted for his family to view for an entire month. I am sure that they would appreciate hearing each and every one of your kind words of his work, although you never met him in person.
Reach out to confort them in their time of loss and grief. I believe we have all learned that the "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" saying holds true, especially in times like these.
