Just finished reading Chicago Battery Boys by Richard Williams. I initially purchased it because one of my ancestors, Pinckney Cone, was a member of the Chicago Merchantile Battery. CMB participated primarily in the Vicksburg and Red River Camp. It consists mainly of letters from several of its members. I think its a great addition to the libraries of those interested in the action of the Mississippi and Louisiana areas.
