I guess my main question is if Simeon Sims joined the 28th at Avery Island, that would be much later than he says he enlisted in Kennedys at home. Why isn't his service in Kennedy's reflected in his service record? Any thoughts on that?

On a side note, when he joined the 28th, he was joining his father, Richard C. Sims. So father and son served together. This explains why Simeon would have wanted to transfer. I was just trying to determine what action he saw before he transferred.
