Jacob was landed at Young's Point, LA. above Vicksburg on September 10, 1862 from the steamer John H. Done as part of the thousands of CSA POW's that were exchanged under terms of the Dix-Hill POW exchange agreement. I believe he was then transferred to the 'Exchanged prisoners Camp' near the Fair Grounds at Jackson, Ms. pending being formally exchanged. Does anyone have information on this event and the movement of these forces? Thanks, Ralph
