Virgil, you are correct. The monument used to sit atop the post siege inner line of earthworks constructed by the Union army. I have never been able to figure that one out except that there was, shall we say, a "lack of knowledge" on the part of the people who placed it there. From descriptions of its current location, it does sound like Ronnie's property, but one account gives another name for the owner of the property. Wonder if Ronnie moved?
