Coppens Battalion was sent to Yorktown Va. June 10th and he is still at Richmond June 16 also he says the train ride from Montgomery thru Tn and into Va was more like a parade with people visting and throwing flowers at every stop. Coppens never went thru Tn. by train. The jackson square in New Orleans ,I never thought about it even though Ive been their, That's probably the Jackson in the letter. I think I on the right unit but the C names dont have complete names even in Booth's records. Does anyone know if the refernece about staying at the Chalk House and riding horses with their beautiful Daughter means if this guy is a officer or still could he be a private.
