Re: European Brigades
In Response To: European Brigades ()

Gentlemen I am currently transcribing the service records of the 21st Alabama Infantry and find that two companies were transferred to the 1st Regt. La Infantry. Co. G, 21st Ala. Captain A. S. Festorazzi Commanding, the non-commissioned officers and privates of Captain Festorazzi's Spanish Guards were transferred on June 27, 1862, by SO 48 and Captain Festorazzi was discharged by General B. Bragg. (another Company G, 21st Ala was formed in it's place)

The same with Co. H, 21st Alabama Infantry, Captain Chas. DeVaux Commanding, the non-commisioned officers and privates were likewise transferred on SO 48 and another company H formed in it's place. Capt. DeVaux was dismissed GCM (General Court Marshal?) on Oct. 12, 1863.
This transferr occurred after Battle of Shiloh,in April 62.
I suppose a language barrier came into play with the 21st Alabama?
