Order of Battle analysis

One of my special interests regarding Confederate organizations.

Have you ever attempted to analyze the fluid order of battle for Van Dorn's Army of West Tennesse and Price's Army of the West after the prisoner exchange in the fall of 1862?

The September 1862 exchange of the Ft Donelson and Island #10 regiments created a quagmire of consolidated [temporary and constantly changing in most cases] regiments. These were then brigaded and re-brigaded before the organizations finally settled down [somewhat]in early 1863.

Believe me, it is quite a challenge to try and recreate Van Dorn's order of battle [including the Port Hudson forces] after the battle of Corinth.
