If you have not ordered a copy of his full service record, you should do that. What appears in Booth's books on Louisiana Confederates is frequently incomplete. It is possible that there may be some document in his service record that would clarify his whereabouts after August 1863. He obviously was not captured with most of the regiment at Henderson's Hill in March 1864 since there is no POW record for him. If there is a pension record for him or his widow, that will give you more information.
