Steve,
I'm in the process of getting his thirty-six (36) page Louisiana Confederate Pension Application. In it he claims service in Boone's Battery, Johnson's Battalion, Dubecq's Cavalry/ 1st Regiment Company R- LA Heavy Artillery. I have been unable to find, so far, a CMSR for this man in any of these units. He had numerous alternate name spellings for Seiss, Siess, Sice, Hayes, Haas, etc. I have not been able to fully review the pension file, so I'll have more later, but I was just curious about your posting regarding his "Jayhawking".
BTW, were you satisfied with your CD?
Jim
