Below is a list of "Basco" or Bascoe" from Booth's book. The name "rang a bell" as I remembered there were a few Bascoe's in Co. K of the 27th La. Infantry. The 27th and 26th La. Infantries served during the Vicksburg Campaign, which could tie your Georgia soldier in with those listed below. Company F of the 22nd Louisiana Consolidated Infantry was composed of remnants of the 26th, 27th, and 31st La. Infantries.
