The Louisiana in the Civil War Message Board

Not sure Art, I will ask the family...

they said he was in prison and escaped or was released somehow.

The person I was talking with didn't know much other than the Deville family may have had 5 brothers and all of them did service in the war.

His great-great grandfather as he told me was Louis, he wasn't sure which unit he served with or much else. He thought it was the 28th Louisiana. I will call him Monday and repost. He didn't bring his family notes with him to the library, which he should have handy when I call.

BTW just found 12 LSU games on film from 1935-1957 and will be putting them on dvd soon.

One game has Abe Mickal and is the only footage of him in action I know of and 2 have Gaynell and Moose in the game.

Moose is the only one of the three still alive, he was my High School Principal at Istrouma.

Was looking up the 1908 team history on micro-film and the 1909 Basketball team. Sent the notes along to LSU and Bud at the muesum.
