Don't get discouraged. The information in Boothe's List is mostly correct. Some times the information is entered wrong or transcribed incorrectly, but it is mostly correct. I started to look for an ancestor whom I knew served in the 13th, and I knew that he was wounded and died in the hosp. at Shreveport following the Red River Campaign. (from family bible) Boothe had a listing for his death on the correct day but with the wrong first initial. I guess the papers were hard to read. His name was William Harmon Richmond. All who knew him called him Harm or Harmon. Boothe had him listed as R. Richmond of the 5th Cavalry. It took me a long time to run down the fact that the 13th were disbanded and reorganized into other units several times. They were also shown in the 3rd at one time among others. So don't give up. P.S. if I can remember where I got his enlistment papers, I will notify you.
