2nd LA Cavalry

Thanks to Art Bergeron for furnishing regimental history on the following link:

This regiment was very active during the War. Has anyone written a book on them?

I have a lengthy military record for Pvt. B.F. Teer, Co. F, captured at Henderson's Hill on March 21, 1864. It goes on to say "received at New Orleans....Roll dated Office of Commissary of Prisoners, Dept. of the Gulf....St. Louis, U.S.A. General Hospital, New Orleans, La.; acute pneumonia..."

And my favorite entry, "Rebel Prisoner of War". He enlisted under Maj. Breazeale on Aug. 21, 1862 at the age of 18 and was paroled June 1865. Other than the vacation in New Orleans, he was present for every recorded roll call.
