This may be a backwards way of finding the information, but perhaps you could review histories of the initial units formed in Louisiana. An example is like the history's of some of the companies in Wheat's Battalion, Company B specifically. I have read a few histories that indicated this Company were issued Mississippi Rifles from the Arsenal.
