Update on Marker

Here is an update and order of events for the marker dedication for Gen. Tom Green.

On Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., the Louisiana Society Order of Confederate Rose will be dedicating a historical marker for General Tom Green at the site of the battle of Blair's Landing. On April 12, 1864, the Confederacy loss one of it's greatest military leaders near Lake End Louisiana. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating General Green's life by dedicating this marker on the 144th anniverary of his death.

Any group or individual wishing to place a floral tribute, please bring it with you.

Note: The marker is located 1.5 miles off of highway 1 on Lock and Dam #4 road. The marker is on the left side of the road behind a railing (in a large curve). Please park your vehicle on the side of the road prior to reaching the railing so that the marker will not be blocked by vehicles.
