I tried posting on the Arms and Equipment Board with no success so I will try here. I am trying to verify a Crescent Regiment button. It is in "Record of AMERICAN UNIFORM and Historical Buttons Bicentennial Edition by Alphaeus H. Albert" on page 152, but it's backmark is T.W. & W. /Paris. My button's backmark is A.U. Wein with the number 22 (identical otherwise). The button is 7/8" in dia and has a Crescent Moon with a star in the center. Haven't been able to Google A.U. Wein; does anyone know anything about this manufacturer or this button?
