Thanks so much for the help. J.S. Finley was married in 1863 and they had about nine children from l966 - 1879. Surely
they really meant the calves of his legs this time. (I do understand using euphemism for delicate subject matter and it is interesting to know that was done during this time period)

Can a pension be traced? His wife was Sarah E (Cooper) Finley and she lived in Little River County Arkansas at a place called Cerro Gordo. He died in l907 or l908. She died in l921. Did they send the pension to the wife after the death of her husband?
