Milton, thank you very much for this message, as you actually state that John Fearn and John Francis are two different men. The marker that was obtained by Jim Gray for "John F. Francis" is stated to contain an inscription, on the back, that Francis had come from Australia. Is this correct?
I do not doubt the records of "John Francis" lieutenant in the 28th Louisiana, but I doubt very much, as stated in several web sites, and even in newspaper articles, that John Francis and John Fearn are one and the same person. At least you have cleared this up with your statement - "Two Different Men." Are you willing to make this statement, or at least can I copy this statement from you, and pass it on to the descendant of John Fearn, Mr. Howard Fearn-Wannan, living in Melbourne, please?
