I just found this discussion thread on the Battle of Yellow Bayou. According to family papers, which are sketchy at best, my g-g-grandfather, George Lindsey Hurst, fought with a Confederate unit from Hunt County, Texas. He died of his injuries on May 18, 1864, and is buried in a soldiers' grave somewhere in the area. Does anyone have, or know where to find, an authoritative listing of all the soldiers in the unit, and exactly where this soldiers' grave might be located? I lived in Shreveport for a number of years in the late 50s and early 60s, but my parents nor I had any idea that an ancestor of ours was buried relatively near where we once lived. Thanks for any help you can provide.
