Where was this person discharged from?
I am looking for a William J. Newsom, born in Georgia, married in Paulding Co., Georgia to Ann Johnson in 1855. He possibly moved to Claiborne Parish Louisiana with his parents, sibilings and other relatives. Some of them moved on to Texas. I find no other record on William J. and Ann Johnson after the documented marriage record.
Charles Marion Newsom that served in the Civil War was possibly this William J's brother.
Parents were John and Catherine Newsom. William and Ann’s children show up on the Louisiana census as living with relatives. Children are Thomas Madison and Janes Henry Newsom. Census list James Henry as an orphan nephew and Thomas Madison as a farm laborer?
I would appreciate any and all records that you can provide about this person or any other William J. Newsom.
