How about this - There is a book called 'Booth's' which contains almost all La Soldiers that fought during the CW. Looks like he was in the 4th Regiment - JIMT

On Roll not dated of Prisoners of War at Johnson's Island, Ohio, who desire to take the Oath of Allegiance, Jan. 15, 1864. Remarks: Wishes to take the Oath. A petition has been received and will be Forwd. with the Rolls, which explains the case. Transfd. to Pt. Lookout, Md., for exchange, March 20, 1865, thence to Fort Delaware, Del., April 28, 1865. Released on Oath of Allegiance to U. S., June 12, 1865. Res. Carroll Par., La., complexion ruddy, hair dark, eyes gray, height 6 ft. - in.
