Captain Joseph H. Dale

Periodically, I just get tired of looking for my ancestors final resting place, and just want to ask for help from someone that may be more knowledgable than I.
For years I have been looking for the grave of Captain Joseph H. Dale.

He started with Co. D Wheats 1st Sp. Batt (Co. D was Catahoula Guerrillas),
Co. D became Co. B 7th La. Inf. Batt.,
Co. B became Co. H Reg. of La. Zouaves & Chasseurs,
Co. H became Co. I 15th La. Inf.,
was captured at Cedar Creek in Oct. of 1864, finished the war out at Fort Delaware Prison.
He fought in all the major battles with The Army of Northern Va.
He died at the Charity Hosp. in New Orleans on Aug. 2, 1880. He had several New Orleans papers attesting to his bravery and heroism. Papers said he was buried by friends in New Orleans ( His home was Concordia Parish).
Wifes pension application says he was to be exhumed in one year and reburied in Richmond, Va. Don't know if that ever happened. Any ideas??, I have been looking for him for 10 years........Mike Dale
