Maby no one by that name is ON RECORD as serving in a La. unit. I have TWO ancestors that served in Harrisons 3rd La. Cav. but there is no official service record of either. There are many accounts from comrades that they served with in Co. D. My greatgrandf. was one of these two. His wifes pension application had been consistantly turned down because of no service records, even though she had multiple witnesses that served with him. It was only after she found 2 small pieces of paper in a trunk that she was granted a pension......she found his parole and amnesty papers signed by General Canby. As far as the rest of the world knows, he was never in the Confederate Army
