As of almost 5pm, Monday, central Louisiana seems to be holding its own. Our National Guard facility is hopping with activity but the winds seem to be only moderate and not much rain to speak of. We managed to get a lot of items from our museum at Jackson Barracks so our state's military history is faring a lot better than with Hurricane Katrina.
I hear that the winds and rain are due to increase before midnight so cross your fingers. The electricity is flickering so I must sign off.
