One general whose name escapes me claimed the only time he ever heard George Washington curse during the Revolution was when he confronted General Charles Lee in regards to his mishandling the Battle of Monmouth, New Jersey, and called him a "damned poltroon." I hope everyone takes the claim of Louisiana Zouaves defiling Union dead with a huge grain of salt. Newspapers were notorious for printing every rumor and this story certainly is almost not true.
