Re: Consolidated Crescent Regiment

The history of the Crescent Regiment and the Consolidated Crescent (with the 11th and 12th(16th) Battalions) is curtrently being compiled and will be announced on here when completed. In the mean time, Gary Joiner's book, "Little to Eat, Thin Mud to Drink" by University of Tennessee Press does give a view from the 'grunts' in the field. Another source, which covers civilian reactions (including people related to members of the Consolidated Crescent Regiment)to the Red River Campaign can be viewed at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ladesoto/civreac.htm
