Died at Picayune Cotton Press, New Orleans?

I'm new to geneology, Please Help! My 3rd Great Grandfather was John Steven Flowers of Co. K of the 15th Texas Infantry, He is supposed to have died in a Prison Camp in 1864. I have determined that his regmt. fought at Yellow Bayou and that about 300 prisoners were taken, and that they were sent to New Orleans. I found the record of another soldier of company "C" of the 15th Texas who was taken to the Picayune Cotton Press. Does anyone have information about John Steven Flowers, or the Picayune Cotton Press, or confirmation that he was taken prisoner, or conformation of his death, cause of death, place of burial, does the building still exist, where was is located?
