Your copy of communication from Green dated July 5,1863 is most fascinating.That young 18 year old officer from the 5th Texas Cavalry was no doubt Leander H.McNelly later to become one of the most famous Texas Rangers in post war Texas.

It is interesting that General Green would have such high regard for the young man even at this early period of his life.
