It is my recollection that Edwards' Battalion Militia was only in service for a brief period of time. I believe that there is some mention of it in the Louisiana State Militia records at the State Archives in Baton Rouge. These records were originally in the National Archives but transferred to Louisiana around the time of the Civil War Centennial. National Archives microfilmed them before returning them to the state.
