It would have been impossible to get seriously wounded men off the mountain to avoid capture. I can't imagine what Louisiana unit might have been involved. Almost all the fighting was done by the Confederate brigades of Walthall (Mississippi), Moore (Alabama) and Pettus (Alabama). Louisiana soldiers would have been watching from the lines on Missionary Ridge.
