In Response To: Aristide Gerard ()

According to "Foreigners in the Confederacy," (p. 144) by Ella Lonn (first published 1940, reprint 2002), Aristide Gerard of Fort DeRussy had previously served in the 13th Louisiana. According to Booth's book, in the record of A. Gerard of the 13th La., "Roll for Jan. and Feb., 1864, Dropped by the Board to relieve the army of incompetent, disabled and disqualified officers." This would also seem to indicate the same man, as Gerard was court-martialed for some of his actions at Fort DeRussy (although he was acquitted).
