You can be about 99.9% certain that all militia units from New Orleans ceased to exist no later than May 1, 1862. General Lovell had virtually no success in getting members of those units to leave the city when he ordered troops to evacuate it on April 25. Only members of the Foreign Brigade under General Juge remained on duty to maintain order in the city until Federal troops arrived.
