There are three medical director cards in his file only providing information on his date of release on furlough. Of interest is a copy of correspondence between the War Department and the Louisiana State Board of Pension Commissioners dated November 25, 1914. His file contains some 65 cards which should provide interesting reading. i believe they are mostly vouchers for pay, forage, equipment, etc. However, I have not reviewed these. You can procure these records through the service noted in the red enclosed box above.

Dale, 22 year old Clerk, resident of Tooley P O., Louisiana, born in Mississippi, enlisted as a 5th Sergeant in Company I (Catahoula Guerrillas) , 15th Louisiana Infantry, June 9, 1861 at New Orleans, elected 2nd Lt. July 1861, promoted 1st Lt August 13, 1862, wounded in the thigh and arm at the Battle of Manassas August 30, 1862, furloughed 30 days from Louisiana Hospital, Richmond, Virginia on November 11, 1862, , promoted Captain March 4, 1864 at Orange C. H., wounded in battle of Belle Grove/Cedar Creek, Virginia October 19, 1864, captured the next day at Woodstock, Virginia, subscribed to an Oath of Allegiance to the US at Fort Delaware, Del., released June 17,1865
