My father and his cousin, who lived in Washington, did much research over the years and I suspect it was something my cousin unearthed. I have been unable to find where it may have come from and my father was not big on documenting sources. It is my intention to stop at St Peters Catholic Church in New Iberia and see if he may show up in their burial records. I know of other Catholic confederates who were KIA and wound up in the local church yard with no marker but their names survive in the records.
