Thanks for the information. It will not cause any problem with the stone. It lists only those who died in Weldon, not those who may have had a role in caring for the soldiers. The lady who wrote the article was a girl of 14 in 1864 and in later life was a local historian. She may have forgotten the name 60+ years later. The cemetery is on high ground next to the Roanoke River and the Roanoke Canal and the Raleigh and Gaston Railroad about 6 blocks from the site of a Methodist church that was used as a hospital. It is bounded by a street on two sides and earth works from the Wilmington and Weldon Railroad bridge defenses on the other 2 sides. It is nice to be able to recognize these men of the Confederacy who died at Weldon 147 years ago.
