Terry,

A belated thank you for posting the info. on the 5th Alabama men.

Daniel C. Rankin was mortally wounded at the Battle of Cool Springs on July 18, 1864.

William H. Thomas survived the war, so I don't know who W. H. Thomas is!

George Washington Hannah was the Regimental Color Bearer and was mortally wounded at the Battle of 3rd Winchester on September 19, 1864.

I'm also a little puzzled by the listing of T. J. Wilson. Thomas J. Wilson was discharged in December 1861. (He may have re-enlisted.) However, Samuel Jones Wilson did die in Virginia on October 8, 1862, as a result of wounds received at the Battle of Sharpsburg on September 17, 1862.

George W. Reed was mortally wounded at the Battle of Cool Springs near Snicker’s Ferry, Virginia, on July 18, 1864. This may be a transcription error (1862?).

Charles Winston Haftner was mortally wounded at the Battle of Cedar Creek on October 19, 1864, and died December 4, 1864.

C. H. Burgin was likely mortally wounded at the Battle of Winchester on September 19, 1864.
