I am trying to save myself an awful lot of sore eyes reading multiple reels of microfilm. I am looking for a soldier in the 8th LA. Infantry that was wounded/transferred/discharged on or after May 30, 1862 and sent to the Trans-Mississippi Department where he died at Pleasant Hill on April 9, 1864. Most likely he was in the 28th LA/18th LA/Consolidated Crescent at that point, as they did get into light action late in the day. I have looked at some of the rosters posted online but to no avail. I tried an email for Wayne Cosby but it was an old address no longer in use. Does anyone have an idea who this soldier may be?
