Does anyone know if Wheat's Tigers (Co. B, 1st Bn. La. Vols.) zouave jacket's did or did not have red tombeau's on them? I seems I came across a study somewhere that examined the remains of the jackets from the graves of the two Tigers whose graves were excavated and that seemed to be the conclusion, but I'm not sure? As I recall, the jackets were originally blue but turned brown with exposure to the sun and elements. Does anyone know if that study is available on the Internet? Thanks.
