Just finished reading Donald Frazier's book "Fire in the Cane Field" about the war in south Louisiana and parts of Texas from January 1862-January 1863. It's very good. Well written and researched, with excellent maps and photos. It's the first of a planned four volumes on the war in Louisiana. I look forward to the others.
