While searching for information on the French Brigade, I found this message by Art Bergeron

The French Brigade was a part of the Louisiana State Militia and was never a part of the regular Confederate army.
There are extremely few records of militia units. Like others, the French Brigade disbanded when New Orleans fell
to Union forces in May 1862.

Looking for any information on 2 Regiment French Brigade, Louisiana Militia
Were they only in New Orleans? Is it known if they joined the regulars, were they taken prisoner?
