I was posting this for a friend. This is his GGG Grandfather that lived in Caliborne Parish LA. I listed it over on the TN board but I thought someone here on the LA board might know something about him.

I think the R. stands for Ranson? He was from Claiborne, Parish LA and is buried with a CSA marker in a cemetery near Athens, LA. We are looking for information on his service records and are trying to figure out why he was enlisted in TN and not LA. I found his widows application for a pension in the LA archives website. She was listed in Claiborne, Parish La.
