The Louisiana in the Civil War Message Board

New Blog on Civil War in Louisiana

I wanted to let ya'll know about: www.louisianacivilwar.com. It is in its early stages and has great potential for growth here in very near future. I will be revamping the page, etc. to provide more options for researchers. The goal of this site is to promote the role of Louisiana in the war and be a "hub" of data. One of the driving goals will be to build a database or large bibliography on people, units, battles, etc. for researchers to tap into. We are attempting to link to as many unit rosters as possible (and we are almost ready to dump onto the board about a dozen more unit rosters from our own work). This will also apply to flags carried by our units-create a list of units and what flags we know exist, where they are and as much data as we can provide. This bibliography of material will also attempt to establish a "housing list" of the numerous pictures (they wont be provided but will tell you what institutions, repositories, etc. to contact). This is by no means a cutting edge blog/website but simply an attempt to centralize and organize a LOAD of material that is floating out there about our wonderful state's involvement in the war. Its new, youg and in the growing stage. Suggestions, suggested links, and whatever may be of use is always welcome. Full credit will be given to whoever suggest, offers and provides information.
